Solution

Periodically run Catrebuildindex -r by following the steps below:

1. Stop the Backup Exec Services.

2. Open command prompt and navigate to Backup Exec installation folder (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec)

3. Run the command "Catrebuildindex.exe -r" (without quotes)

4. Start the Backup Exec Services.

Backup Exec release tape library
When removing tapes from a tape library can meet the problem of its opening.

If the backup program you use BackupExec we must first unlock the tie and then we remove it from the slot.


To unlock the tape open application BackupExec enter the Devices and click on our library right. Expands the selection menu, select Options Unlock and wait until we get confirmation unlock the library. Now we can safely remove the tie with a tape library.
